Lumatix GmbH unveils innovative computer technology that cuts complex image rendering times to a few seconds, making it possible to use standard computers for complex digital graphics applications.  Working up to 500,000 times faster than comparable solutions, Lumatix Atrium Designer provides real-time rendering directly in the design application Autodesk® 3ds Max Viewport.
Thanks to the innovative Lumatix Atrium Core™ technology, graphic designers are now able to use standard computers to calculate digital light simulations more realistically.
The first service in the Atrium Core™ technology product portfolio is Atrium Designer, which provides real-time rendering directly in Autodesk® 3ds Max Viewport.
Using Lumatix Atrium Designer, changes to materials, lighting, camera, geometry and post-processing in Autodesk 3ds Max Viewport can be carried out in milliseconds in Viewport. As a result, video and animation rendering now operates genuinely in real time.
Atrium Designer heralds a new generation of lighting effects for visualizations, architecture, film, design, computer games and advertising. 3D visualizers – among them architects, interior designers and industry designers – can use Lumatix Atrium Core™ technology to produce designs and drafts far more efficiently, since long and unproductive waiting times for computers to finish processing lighting calculations are a thing of the past. Changes can be coordinated in real time, either on-set or even using web-based meeting tools.
Christian Heckl, CEO at Lumatix GmbH, says: “With the release of Atrium Designer, Lumatix is realizing the vision of calculating dynamic global lighting in genuine real time – fully interactively and in very high quality.”
About Lumatix
Lumatix specializes in the development of next-generation digital lighting simulations for interactive 3D visualizations. Its innovative process, Atrium Core™ technology, is able to calculate digital lighting realistically and more than 500,000 times faster than comparable solutions. By reducing processing times from hours to just a few milliseconds, Lumatix makes it possible to use standard computers to produce top-quality results, heralding a new generation of lighting effects for visualizations, architecture, film, design, computer games and advertising. Lumatix started in 2009 as a spin-off of the computer graphics faculty from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. The limited company Lumatix GmbH was founded in Erlangen in September 2010. Since then, the six-strong high-tech research team has already won several awards, including the Intel® Recognition Award, the 2011 Central Franconian Startup contest and one of the main prizes in the German national Successful Multimedia Start-up competition.
