Auto(r) 2011 Design Challenge

 The gallery of the winning projects from the design competition organized by the Auto(r) automotive design conference. The Professionals and Young Designers categories were respectively won by David Olsen and Mirko Vujicic.
For the 2011 edition of the Auto(r) Design Challenge, 104 projects were submitted from professional and young designers all over the world.
Their task was to “Design new car body type for transition economies in 2020”. Participants were divided in two categories – Young designers and Professionals.
The projects were selected and judged by the conference speakers.

The Professionals category was won by American David Olsen, designer at Kenworth, who was unanimously voted.
The second and third places were won by László Fogarasi-Benkő, a Hungarian designer who finished an internship at BMW, and Korean student Sung Hyun Kim, who is a an internship at Mercedes-Benz.

Young Designers

The winner in the Young Designers category was Mirko Vujicic, a 23 year-old student from Bosnia & Herzegovina at University of Arts in Belgrade.
The second place was won by Acatrinei Lucian Nicolae (25), a previous Local Motors winner, and third was voted young Czech designer Michaël van Vuuren.
